I think earthworms are supposed to be good for the garden. Do you have those in Brooklyn?

Earthworms are terrific for soil because they are able to eat and eat and eat any organic waste in the soil (leaves, dead bugs, roots). They go through multiple times their size every day. And then nature takes it's course inside the worm and worm poop comes out. The 'castings' are a natural, nutrient-rich fertilizer.
