The F Train subway line comes out of the ground just down at the end of our street. At night the breeze of the passing subway smells like jasmine tea. The pleasant smell comes from our night blooming jasmine plant along one of our fences.

The plant in the photo is honeysuckle.
Great blog. We San Franciscans don't gravitate to our outdoor space during the summer like everyone else; too cold. But I remember summers in DC and how amazed I was every year when my bare garden would become overgrown and lush practically before my eyes.
Hi, that looks like honeysuckle rather than Jasmine!
But they both smell divine!
